Artist Myranda Shirk

Myranda Shirk (she/they) is a clarinetist, woodwind doubler, and recording artist based in Nashville, TN. As an ICAmbassador for the International Clarinet Association, Myranda records and shares her original clarinet choir arrangements of soundtracks from animated movies, TV shows, and video games. Myranda performs with several ensembles across Tennessee, including the Nashville Wind Symphony, Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra, and Watershed Public Theater, and is a proud alum of Dr. Todd Waldecker’s studio at Middle Tennessee State University. Outside of Tennessee, Myranda has performed in China, Costa Rica, and across the US, and collaborates on recording projects with musicians and producers in LA and the UK. Myranda is the founder of the Purple Iris Wind Ensemble, which recently toured China, and a founding member of the Middle Tennessee Woodwind Orchestra, which commissioned two new pieces for woodwind orchestra and has performed some of Myranda’s own arrangements. When not playing clarinet, Myranda lectures at Vanderbilt University, and enjoys reading, sewing, and camping with her cats.
