Buffet Crampon R13 Bb & A Clarinet
Few clarinets have shaped the modern clarinet world like the Buffet Crampon R13. Introduced in 1955 and designed by Robert Carrée, the R13 became a defining professional clarinet in the United States and remains one of Buffet Crampon’s most recognized and successful models.
Known for its centered, harmonically rich sound and powerful projection, the R13 offers the flexibility to move effortlessly between orchestral, chamber, solo, and wind ensemble playing. Its characteristic response gives the player a strong tonal core while allowing considerable freedom of color and expression throughout the instrument.
Crafted from select grenadilla wood, the R13 features the traditional Boehm system with 17 keys and 6 rings, an adjustable thumb rest, and professional keywork. The Bb R13 includes a 66mm barrel, while the A R13 includes a 65mm barrel.
The R13 remains an excellent choice for advancing students, university musicians, educators, and professional players looking for the classic Buffet sound and response that has been heard on concert stages for generations.
Available individually in Bb or A, or as a matched Bb/A set.
