The Buffet Crampon Tosca represents one of the most refined expressions of the legendary R13 bore tradition. Introduced in 2004 and developed in collaboration with renowned clarinetists, the Tosca combines the unmistakable character of Buffet Crampon with modern acoustic development, exceptional craftsmanship, and a remarkably fluid playing experience.

Built upon the R13 bore family, the Tosca is known for its harmonic richness, exceptional roundness, and beautifully centered tonal character. The sound possesses depth and complexity while remaining remarkably flexible, allowing the player to move effortlessly between intimate chamber playing, solo repertoire, and the projection required in a full symphony orchestra.

One of the defining qualities of the Tosca is its ease of response. The instrument feels free and comfortable throughout the registers, giving the player tremendous control over color, articulation, and dynamic range. Its refined acoustic design allows the sound to remain stable and resonant from the lowest register through the upper clarion and altissimo.

Professional appointments include 19 silver-plated keys and 6 rings, an E♭ lever, low F correction key, Tosca-specific key design, metal-capped tenons, precision-machined springs, and an adjustable thumb rest. A combination of leather, GT, and cork pads contributes to a precise and dependable response.

Available in both Bb and A, the Tosca provides professional players with a beautifully cohesive pair of instruments. The Bb is supplied with 65mm and 66mm barrels, while the A includes 64mm and 65mm barrels, providing additional flexibility in response and pitch.
