The Buffet Crampon R13 Prestige takes one of the most celebrated professional clarinet designs in history and elevates it through exceptional materials, precision craftsmanship, and refined keywork. Built upon the legendary R13 acoustic concept, the Prestige is designed for the player who loves the unmistakable character of the R13 but wants an instrument with an even higher level of refinement.

Carefully selected African blackwood (grenadilla) is chosen for both its acoustic and aesthetic qualities, then finely polished while retaining the natural beauty and character of the wood. The result is an instrument with the focused tonal core, projection, and flexibility associated with the R13 family, paired with the craftsmanship expected from one of Buffet Crampon’s premier professional models.

The R13 Prestige features 18 silver-plated keys and 6 rings, including a left-hand E♭ lever and adjustable thumb rest. Its nickel-silver keywork is cold-forged, copper-plated, and silver-plated before being carefully fitted and regulated. GT pads provide a precise and stable seal, contributing to the instrument’s clean response and dependable feel.

One of the Prestige’s most recognizable features is its metal-capped tenons. These reinforcement rings help protect the body at critical joint areas while giving the instrument the distinctive appearance that has long set Buffet’s Prestige models apart.

Available in both Bb and A, the R13 Prestige provides professional players with the familiar tonal character of the R13 family across a beautifully matched pair of instruments. The Bb is supplied with a 66mm barrel, while the A is supplied with a 65mm barrel.
