The Buffet Crampon Divine represents the culmination of Buffet Crampon’s RC bore tradition, combining generations of French clarinet craftsmanship with modern acoustic research and innovative materials. Developed with guidance from renowned clarinetist Paul Meyer and other leading artists, the Divine was created for players seeking exceptional freedom, refinement, and tonal flexibility from a professional instrument.

At the heart of the Divine is its wide RC-style bore, developed to provide a rich, resonant sound with exceptional airflow and remarkable fluidity between registers. The instrument responds freely across the entire range, allowing the player to move effortlessly from delicate pianissimo passages to powerful, projecting orchestral playing without sacrificing tonal depth or stability.

One of the Divine’s most distinctive innovations is Buffet Crampon’s patented use of carbon-fiber reinforcement rings in place of traditional metal rings. This reduces the instrument’s weight by approximately 60 grams while allowing the body to vibrate more freely. The result is an instrument that feels exceptionally balanced in the hands while maintaining an open, responsive character.

The Divine also incorporates 19 silver-plated keys and 6 rings, an E♭ lever, low F correction key, redesigned ergonomic keywork, Green LinE tone-hole inserts, metal-capped tenons, and an adjustable thumb rest. Its combination of leather, GT, and cork pads is designed to provide stability and a precise, responsive feel.

Even the tenon system reflects the Divine’s attention to detail. Special synthetic tenon corks provide consistent compression and precise fitting while greatly reducing the need for traditional cork maintenance.
